Many of you may have been wondering over the last few months why on earth I insist on calling each month the new moon of "this sign" when clearly the moon and sun have been in the sign that comes before it. For example, last month was the New Moon of Aquarius, but any person who understands how to read a chart would have taken one look at it and said, "What is this guy talking about? That new moon is in Capricorn!" And many conventional astrologers did call that lunation the new moon of Capricorn. The difference is that Kabbalistic Astrology is unique in its take of the yearly and monthly cycles of the Sun and Moon. Our standard Gregorian calendar, the calendar we all use today (January, February, March, etc.) is a calendar that is based on the earth's orbit around the Sun, and it arbitrarily designates months with little to no celestial phenomena involved. However, in the Kabbalistic Calendar, we use the orbit of the earth around the Sun to determine the year, and the moon's orbit around the earth to determine the months. So every time we arrive at a new moon, we begin a new Kabbalistic month. Each month, in and of itself, has an energy of each sign regardless of what sign the sun and moon are in. So as not to bore you with detailed mathematics, I'll cut to the chase. When you use the lunar cycles as months and solar cycles as years, you end up having a shorter lunar year than a solar year, which causes the months to drift away from the seasons. If we kept this up for a few years, the month of Aries would fall when the sun and moon are in Capricorn! A spring time energy would end up taking place in the winter if you're in the northern hemisphere! It would take over a decade for it to line back up with its sign. In order to make up for this shortage of days, seven times in nineteen years, we have a leap year and add an additional month of Pisces. This extra month helps to bring the lunar cycle back into alignment with the solar cycle. The question is: why Pisces?
To answer that, we have to understand the Kabbalistic concept of Light and Vessel. According to the Kabbalists, the sun is the physical manifestation of the Light force. Not only does it emit physical light, it also emits spiritual Light. The Moon represents the essence of the cosmos that receives the Light, what the Kabbalists call the vessel. This interplay of light and vessel can be seen in every aspect of our universe. Within a human being, we see it as body and soul. If you take it higher, it is our soul and the Light of the Creator. We are vessels that were created in order to receive that Light, and this world was created so that we could participate in the process of creating, to become creators. Since we are vessels, we are lead throughout our lives by one single essence: desire. We are a walking, talking, living, breathing "I WANT." According to Rav Yehuda Ashlag, the most prolific Kabbalist of the early 20th century, a person would not lift even one finger if he or she did not have a desire for something which that finger would help them acquire. Consider this: what is it that you desire in life? What do you want? That desire is your vessel, and the Light is what must fill it.
In order for us as vessels to truly experience the fulfillment from that we receive, we asked that this world be created so that we would have an opportunity to earn and co-create. We asked that the Light be hidden so that we could put in the work to find and reveal it. It is in that work that we discover our creator essence and earn the fulfillment that comes from receiving. That creator essence is manifested in one singular way: sharing. Think of it this way. How many times have you received something you didn't work for, only to be bored with it shortly after? But if you compare it to something you have worked for, the fulfillment and appreciation that comes from it is lasting. Simply put, if we don't work for it, we will not experience lasting fulfillment from it. It will come and go, leaving us feeling empty and yearning for more. Not only that, but if we are not taking our energy (time, effort, money, love, etc) and sharing it or contributing it to the creative process, then we are left with nothing but an empty shell. We get a quick spark of joy, and then we’re left with no lasting Light.
In this world, our senses are fooled by limitation and our egos. Our misguided desires lure us away from our purpose. As we walk through this world, the ego fools us into believing that if only we could GET the next big thing: that house, that car, that relationship, that money, all of it now without effort, then we will be truly happy and fulfilled. The Kabbalists explain that this is, in fact, the exact opposite way to feel happy and fulfilled. It is not through receiving that we are connected to our purpose and true fulfillment, it is through sharing and through becoming a creator of that which we receive. This is why the lunar months always fall short. Because if the moon represents the vessel (our desire), if left unchecked, it can run completely off track from what it was put here to achieve. It can fall out of alignment with the Light force, represented by the Sun. A leap year, helps to bring that spiritual alignment back into balance. To help bring us back on course so that we are not lead astray by impulsive desires for immediate gratification.
So now, why Pisces? Of all the signs in the Zodiac, Pisces is considered the most humble and the most connected with the spiritual reality. Souls who incarnate into the sign of Pisces have already learned that the ego and selfish, short-lived desires will never lead us to true fulfillment. They have the capacity to put others ahead of themselves and love unconditionally, and through their example, lead us towards greater connection with the Light. This month of Pisces is that bonus month. That is why I am not including any charts or horoscopes this month. For the next thirty days, your mission is simple: realign yourself with your divine essence.
What does this look like? For each of us, it will take a different form, but in its simplest description: love when you want to hate. Share when you want to take. Have patience when you want to rush. Speak kindly when you want to gossip. You can also take time to rediscover spiritual practices such a prayer, mediation, communing with nature, or just being kind and loving to everyone around you. As we take this additional month where spiritual consciousness is so easily accessed and use it to its fullest potential, we will be preparing ourselves to take advantage of the full energy of Pisces that comes in the next month, Pisces 2, which is the energy of limitless joy and happiness.

Luna Nueva de Piscis 1 - Realineación Espiritual

Según Rav Yehuda Ashlag, el kabbalista más prolífico de principios del siglo 20, una persona no levantaría ni un dedo si no deseara algo que ese dedo le ayudaría a adquirir. Considera esto: ¿qué es lo que quieres en la vida? ¿Qué deseas? Ese deseo es tu vasija, y la Luz es lo que debe llenarlo.
Para que nosotros, como reales vasijas experimentemos verdaderamente el cumplimiento de lo que recibimos, pedimos que este mundo fuera creado para que tuvieramos la oportunidad de ganar y co-crear. Pedimos que la Luz estuviera oculta para que pudieramos hacer el trabajo para encontrarla y revelarla. Es en ese trabajo que descubrimos nuestra esencia creadora y obtenemos la satisfacción que se obtiene al recibir. Esa esencia creadora se manifiesta de una manera singular: compartir. Piénsalo de esta manera ¿Cuántas veces has recibido algo para lo que no trabajaste, solo para aburrirte poco después? Pero si lo comparas con algo por lo que has trabajado, el sentimiento de merecimiento y la apreciación que se desprenden de él son duraderos. En pocas palabras: si no trabajamos para ello, no experimentaremos un sentimiento duradero de ello. Vendrá y se irá, dejándonos con la sensación de vacío y ansiando más. No solo eso, sino que si no tomamos nuestra energía (tiempo, esfuerzo, dinero, amor, etc.) y la compartimos o contribuimos al proceso creativo, nos quedamos sin nada más que una cáscara vacía. Obtenemos una chispa rápida de alegría que luego desaparece y nos deja sin una Luz duradera.
En este mundo, nuestros sentidos son engañados por la limitación y nuestros egos. Nuestros deseos equivocados nos alejan de nuestro propósito. Mientras caminamos por este mundo, el ego nos engaña haciéndonos creer que si solo pudiéramos OBTENER la próxima gran cosa: esa casa, ese automóvil, esa relación, ese dinero, todo ahora sin esfuerzo, entonces seremos verdaderamente felices y satisfechos. Los kabbalistas explican que esta es, de hecho, exactamente la manera opuesta de sentirse feliz y satisfecho. No es a través de recibir que estamos conectados a nuestro propósito y verdadera satisfacción, es a través del compartir y al convertirnos en creadores de lo que recibimos. Es por esto que los meses lunares siempre se quedan cortos. Porque si la luna representa la vasija (nuestro deseo), si no se controla, puede desviarse completamente del objetivo para el cual se puso aquí. Puede caer fuera de alineación con la fuerza de la Luz, representada por el Sol. Un año bisiesto, ayuda a restablecer el equilibrio espiritual. Para ayudarnos a volver al rumbo para que no nos dejemos llevar por los deseos impulsivos de gratificación inmediata. Así que ahora, ¿por qué Piscis? De todos los signos en el zodíaco, Piscis es considerado el más humilde y el más conectado con la realidad espiritual.
